Terms of Service

ClippedShort turns long gaming recordings and stream VODs into short vertical videos (“Shorts”). It uses AI services to transcribe speech and pick highlights, then renders clips with subtitles, music and sound effects. Features may change as we improve the product.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or buy a plan.

• Give us a real email address you can access, and keep it up to date.
• Keep your password private. You're responsible for activity on your account. Tell us straight away at [email protected] if you think someone else has used it.
• One person per account. Don't create extra accounts to get more free-trial Shorts.

• Lemon Squeezy is our reseller and merchant of record. Paid plans are sold and billed by Lemon Squeezy, which handles payment processing, invoices and sales tax/VAT. Its buyer terms also apply to your purchase.
• Subscriptions renew monthly until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from Plans & billing → Manage billing. You keep your plan until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again.
• Each plan includes a monthly allowance of Shorts, which resets on the 1st of every month (UTC). Unused Shorts don't roll over. The free trial includes a small number of Shorts so you can try the product.
• Refunds follow our Refund Policy.
• If we change prices, we'll tell you by email at least 30 days before your next renewal at the new price.

You keep ownership of the videos, audio and other material you upload or link to, and of the Shorts we make from them.

You give us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, copy, process and transmit your content only to run the service for you. That includes sending audio, transcripts and sampled video frames to the AI providers listed in our Privacy Policy. This licence ends when your content is deleted.

Only process content you have the right to use. By uploading a file or pasting a link, you confirm that you own it or have permission to use it this way. That covers the stream or recording itself, any game footage (under the game publisher's content policies), anyone who appears or speaks in it, and any music. Background music you upload must be licensed for use in videos on the platforms where you'll post them.

Highlights, titles, hashtags and subtitles are generated automatically and can be wrong, incomplete or out of context. Review every Short before you post it. You're responsible for what you publish and for following each platform's rules. We don't promise any number of views, followers or earnings.

Don't use ClippedShort to:

• process content that's illegal, or that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights;
• create sexual content involving minors, or content that harasses, threatens or promotes violence or hatred against people;
• get around plan limits, including by sharing accounts or creating extra ones;
• disrupt, overload, probe or reverse-engineer the service, or access it with automated tools we haven't approved;
• upload malware or anything designed to harm our systems or other users.

If you believe content processed through ClippedShort infringes your rights, email [email protected] with: the work you own, what you believe infringes it, your contact details, and a statement that your complaint is accurate and made in good faith. We'll remove infringing content and may close the accounts of repeat infringers.

You can delete your account anytime from account menu → Delete account, or by emailing [email protected] from the address on the account. Deleting cancels any subscription immediately. We delete your data as described in the Privacy Policy. Shorts you've used in the current month still count towards the monthly allowance if you sign up again with the same email address.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts other users or our systems at risk, or that we're legally required to act on. Where it's reasonable, we'll warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.

We work to keep ClippedShort running and your content safe, but the service is provided “as is” and “as available”. It may be interrupted for maintenance, outages or reasons outside our control, and renders can be delayed when the queue is busy. Keep your own copies of anything important.

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost profits, revenue, followers or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that the law doesn't allow us to exclude, including under South Africa's Consumer Protection Act and Electronic Communications and Transactions Act where they apply to you.

You agree to cover our reasonable losses from claims by third parties caused by content you processed through the service or by your breach of these terms.

We may update these terms. For significant changes we'll email you or show a notice in the app at least 14 days before they take effect. If you keep using ClippedShort after that, the new terms apply. If you don't agree, cancel and stop using the service.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and its courts have jurisdiction over any dispute, without affecting any consumer rights you have where you live.
